Alexandra Palace A Great Venue

With the capacity to hold some 7000+ patrons, Alexandra Palace in London is considered the most chic and versatile venue. Bands like Strokes, Blur or the White Stripes gave some memorable performances on its scene. It is true, that it is a bit difficult to get to the location, but it is worth the trip if you want to check out something majestic. The best way to get there is by car, which you can leave in one of the many parking spaces available while you make your tour visit. Most importantly, the Palace is the place where the first TV broadcasts were held, as early as 1936, and up until 1956 BBC transmitted from here; so the venue truly holds a historic value as well and acts as a storage space for past shows as well.

The building boasts some of the most beautiful architecture and its location is right on the top of the hill. You can also check out the magnificent London horizon from there. Overall, it gives the impression of an opulent building, which is worth checking it inside as well.

Check out the imposing auditorium inside, which has a huge capacity and it was the main place for such great live concerts. Ally Pally, as many Londoners call it, is a great place to visit even if only to check out its architecture and the surrounding areas. Rumors have it that the local council is preparing to sell it, and then it would sadly loose its main function as a favorite venue.

If you are preparing to take a trip with the family or friends without a personal car, you can get to Wood Green by taking the Piccadilly line. You can also take the bus and arrive on the hill right at the Palace entrance. At the foot of the hill, you will find a very nice place called Park Inn where you can have your drinks right before heading up.
